Feature Spotlight: Introducing the State, Regional, and Special Interest Safety Culture Benchmarks in Beterra’s ACT Platform

At Beterra, we believe in empowering health systems with innovative tools to foster safety, transparency, and accountability. With the recently finalized CMS Patient Safety Structural Measures (PSSM) setting the stage for a national roadmap for a health system culture of safety, learning, transparency, and accountability, healthcare organizations face growing demands for compliance and improvement. Local legislative actions, like Florida’s HB 763 mandating measurement of patient safety culture in hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers, further underscore the dynamic nature of a compliance-based landscape towards safety improvement.

To meet these evolving needs, Beterra is proud to introduce State, Regional, and Special Interest-based Safety Culture Benchmarks within our ACT Platform. This localized benchmarking and comparative analytics tool helps hospitals and health systems assess their standing across safety culture domains within a state, a region, or a specialized group(pediatric hospitals, rural healthcare, behavioral health, etc). With these insights, organizations can craft tailored, data-driven strategies for sustainable improvement while meeting and exceeding requirements.

This new feature does more than measure and compare—it fosters collaboration. Participating organizations can choose to share best practices, enabling cross-cutting strategies that drive real, system-wide progress. Together, we can help health systems become true learning organizations.

Our inaugural launch, in collaboration with the Florida Hospital Association, will bring this groundbreaking tool to healthcare facilities across Florida. It’s not just a feature—it’s a movement, proving the immense power of collaboration to improve safety and outcomes for all.

Let’s shape the future of patient safety together.
